Seventh Rerelease

After a fairly long break, Seventh is republishing! I've been working with the wonderful NineStar Press to get it back out into the world, and it's almost ready to go. Preorder it here if interested: Seventh

Real life has definitely had an impact on my writing, but I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things with new projects in 2021. We'll see how that resolution works out haha

New Release: Rebellion

Rebellion is out! Actually, it's been out for a while now, but better late than never, I suppose. This is the first in an intended series, a sci-fi/fantasy story about war, healing, and aliens. You can check out the gorgeous cover below, or buy it from Less Than Three Press.

And I'm Back

Hello again! I know it's been some time since I last updated (a few months... five or six... whoops) but I'm back and have multiple things to share. Well, two, but it's something \o/

Upcoming Stuff

I submitted Glove of Satin, Glove of Bone, my 2012 Nanowrimo project about feuding witches, for publication! It's just gone through its first round of edits and should be out sometime early next year. I'm super excited to see my girls out and about!

I'm also prepping Conflict Management for submission and hope to have that done some time in January. Writing-wise, I've made good headway on a few projects and am trying to get enough of a buffer so that I can release more than one book a year. We'll see about that, hah.

Rainbow Awards

Seventh was a runner-up in the 2015 Rainbow Awards fantasy category! It makes me exceedingly happy to see how well it's done and to hear people's responses. Thanks again to anyone who read and enjoyed it. <3

Happy holidays!

New Release: Seventh

Seventh is out! \o/

I'm super, super excited for its release, and have been looking forward to it for a while, now. It was a lot of fun writing it, and hopefully fun to read. And check out that gorgeous cover!

At some point (hopefully soon!) I'll have a little follow-up that takes place about six months after the story ends. In the meantime, you can pick up Seventh from Less Than Three Press, or the major retailer of your choice. Happy reading!

Hynd leads a lonely life, suffering the lingering effects of a debilitating illness and rejected by most of society because of it. He has spent most of a decade investigating the disappearance of the Seventh Dragoons, content to immerse himself in the frustrating search and the book he is writing about it.

When his sister comes to him about a handsome man eager to meet him, Hynd can scarcely believe his luck, unable to recall the last time somebody wanted to be near him and did not fear or revile him for his illness.

But Julius has come only to see Hynd’s research, hoping to learn what happened to the Seventh and prove that his great-grandfather was not a traitor. And while an assistant in his research is not what Hynd had hoped for, it’s better than nothing. And maybe between the two of them the mystery of the Seventh can at last be put to rest…

Back again (again!)

So once again, I'm posting after having neglected this poor thing for... a very long time, let's say. Too long. One of my resolutions for the new year (inasmuch as I have any) is to actually try and update this semi-regularly, just so that I can have some consistency.

In writing-related news, Seventh is through edits and onto the proofing/galley stage. I've got an (incredible!) cover and I'm very excited to see it come out. I'll updated about that again once it gets a little closer to the actual release date.

Right now, I'm working on finishing up a couple things, and in the middle of a couple other things. My Nano project was a bit of a mess-- I like the core idea a lot, but I went into it without any solid plot and it shows-- so I'm letting it rest for a while and will, ideally, return to it later. I'm almost, almost finished with both Conflict Management and Glove of Satin, Glove of Bone, so with any luck those will be ready to go quite soon. We'll see.

Tomorrow (or in the next few days, at least) I'm going to post a couple sketches I drew of characters in one of my other, untitled WIPs, just to liven things up a little. My poor, boring, forgotten blog... One day you'll be a swan. Probably. Maybe not.

Again!

I am still alive, believe it or not. The past three months have been extremely busy, and I've admittedly been a little lax about updating this, but now that I've just signed a contract for a new story (!!) I wanted to write something.

First, the new story: Less Than Three Press will be publishing Seventh, my pseudo-historical about a nredy historian and his research assistant/dashing friend/tentative love interest, and the long-forgotten mystery they end up investigating. I'm really excited! I'll be sure to update-- more regularly, even-- as it goes through the publication process.

In other news, I have a bunch of ideas I'm poking at, NaNoWriMo is coming up and I'm completely at sea about what to write, my RL job is kicking into high(er) gear, and I have a certification test coming up in late October. In all, it will be miraculous if I make any real writing progress in the next month or so; nonetheless, I'm feeling pretty good about the state of things right now.

More to come!

New Release: Blood Tells

So I've managed to crawl out of the hole I've been hiding in just in time for an announcement: Blood Tells is officially out! The synopsis is as follows:

Nineteen years ago, Demetrius Fallon was accused of murdering his father by way of a rare, unusual poison. When the crown prince is nearly killed the same way, Demetrius agrees to work with Rodger Dalme, the handsome, friendly captain assigned to the case, in order to find the culprit and prove his innocence once and for all.

But there is treachery in every corner, and if he hopes to untangle the lies of the present, Demetrius will first have to face the shadows of his past...

At this point, I'm not sure if I'm proud of this story or just sick of it, but either way, I'm glad it's out. If you like anxiety-ridden sorcerers and past tragedies coming back to haunt people, check it out! It's got all that and more.

One of the things I like to do while writing is draw stuff, mostly characters and occasionally settings. I originally planned to celebrate the release of Blood Tells by posting a couple of the sketches I did while writing it, but things have picked up a lot and I'm super behind, so the sketches will probably have to wait until the weekend.

In the meantime, you can purchase Blood Tells from the Less Than Three Press book market here. Enjoy!
